Are your sheds engineered to meet Florida building codes?
Yes! Our sheds are specifically designed to comply with Florida’s stringent building
codes, including wind load requirements for coastal and inland areas.
What wind ratings do your sheds meet?
As a standard, our sheds are engineered to meet or exceed wind ratings of up to 115 mph. At checkout, if the website detects your location is Florida, it will automatically add additional charges in your cart to cover the extra materials required to meet local codes including H-clips, tie-downs, rafter ties, hurricane strapping, etc.
CanI get a shed that is Florida Product Approved?
Yes, most of our sheds are Florida compliant. We can also assist you with documentation needed for permitting.
Do I need a building permit for a shed in Florida?
In most Florida counties, yes, a permit is required for sheds over a certain size
(often 100–120 square feet). We can help provide engineered plans and load
calculations if needed.
Will your team help with the permitting process?
We offer guidance and necessary documentation to help you through your permitting process in the Orlando area. However, each county and municipality has different requirements, so you should always verify with your local building department. Please check with the Sanford, FL branch with questions on our permit package.
Do you offer anchoring or tie-down systems for sheds?
Absolutely. We offer heavy-duty anchoring packages that meet or exceed Florida's hurricane tie-down standards. These components are automatically added at checkout.
Are your sheds made with pressure-treated or weather-resistant materials?
Yes, we use premium-grade, pressure-treated lumber and weather-resistant siding to withstand Florida’s humid climate and storm conditions.
What happens if my area has stricter local codes?
We can customize your shed build to meet local amendments to the Florida Building Code. Let us know your city or county, and we’ll work to ensure full compliance. Please contact us before building if you have compliance concerns in Orlando, FL.

Do your sheds come painted?
No. But, the exterior shed walls are factory primed and ready for paint.
Can you paint my shed for me?
Yes, paint is sold separately. Be sure to choose our professional painting service at checkout.
Do I need to paint my building right away, what type of paint is recommended, and should I caulk the joints?
Sheds must be painted within 30 days of installation to maintain product warranty. All raw exterior wood must be primed using a quality exterior primer before painting. Nail holes, small knots, and blemishes can be filled with exterior wood putty before priming. Seal all joints, seams, and use an acrylic latex caulk application. All factory-primed siding and trim must be painted using high-quality exterior 100% acrylic-latex paint (we recommend a satin or semi-gloss finish) to protect your building. Be sure to paint all exposed edges of the siding, especially the bottom edge, and all six sides (top, bottom, two sides, front and back) of the doors.
What kind of paint should I use for my floor?
Use an exterior porch and floor paint. If you plan on storing powered equipment inside your shed, use garage floor paint.
What maintenance is recommended for sheds in Sanford, Florida?
Regular inspections for roof seals, anchoring systems, and siding integrity are crucial, especially after severe weather events. We recommend sealing any exposed wood annually.
