How a Shed Became a Sanctuary for Healing for Veterans

In the heart of a tranquil Ohio farm, a group of veterans gathers, not for drills or missions, but to nurture life from the soil. This serene setting is home to H.O.O.V.E.S. (Healing Of Our Veterans Equine Service), an organization founded in 2011 by U.S. Air Force veteran Amanda Held. Having personally navigated the challenges of PTSD and anxiety, Amanda envisioned a haven where fellow veterans could find solace through therapeutic gardening and equine interaction.
Recognizing the need for a dedicated space to store gardening tools and supplies, Heartland Sheds stepped in to support this noble cause. Without hesitation, we provided and installed an 8×12 shed, ensuring the veterans had a reliable and organized space to facilitate their healing activities.

This shed is more than just a storage unit; it stands as a symbol of renewal and resilience. Within its walls, tools rest ready for hands that have served our nation, now tending to gardens that yield not only fruits and vegetables but also peace and purpose.

The Most Important Shed We Have Ever Built
At Heartland Sheds, we are honored to contribute to the healing journey of these brave individuals. Their stories inspire us and we are proud to have played a part in creating a space where recovery and growth flourish side by side. This is truly the most important shed we’ve ever built.
To all veterans, we salute your courage and dedication.

I’m a 100% disabled veteran with PTSD. I would really appreciate a shed for my garden tools
